Welcome to Sol Haven’s exciting venture.

 

Our wellbeing course, made possible with the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund.

Introducing the ‘Ploughing the Mind’ free 12-week wellbeing course, thoughtfully curated to provide a lifeline for those grappling with their mental well-being, lack of confidence, isolation or just looking for new way – in collaboration with our resident occupational therapist, Michaela.

 

Michaela brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our program, ensuring that every aspect of the course is designed with care and precision. Our mission is simple yet profound: to guide individuals towards rekindling connections

– with their community, with themselves, and with newfound companions.

 

 

Within these transformative 12 weeks wellbeing course, in a small closed group of up to 6 people, participants will embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth through a diverse array of activities, all under Michaela’s expert guidance. Nature and horticultural therapy will nurture their spirits, conversations will enlighten minds, movement meditation will soothe their souls, while the rhythms of drumming and the art of cooking will awaken their senses. These activities blend harmoniously to create a holistic support system, offering not only a channel for self-expression but also an avenue to acquire invaluable life skills.

 

 

The conclusion of the program marks just the beginning of a promising path ahead, our commitment transcends the course’s boundaries, as we strive to extend our support to a broader spectrum. Our vision encompasses dismantling the obstacles that hinder social engagement and professional pursuits, with Michaela and support workers at the forefront of this transformative journey.

Nature Therapy

By immersing oneself in natural environments, individuals can experience reduced stress, improved mood, and enhanced mental clarity. Spending time in a garden, nature therapy offers a profound connection to the natural world, fostering a sense of tranquillity and balance in our increasingly fast-paced lives.

Finding your own tree

Embarking on a journey to explore our own tree is an introspective adventure, akin to delving into the rich tapestry of our experiences and emotions. Just as a tree’s growth rings tell a story of its history, our personal journey unfolds through layers of memories, challenges, and triumphs. By peeling back these layers with curiosity and self-reflection, we uncover the roots that ground us and the branches that stretch toward our aspirations. Exploring our own tree is a path to self-discovery, enabling us to nurture our strengths, prune away what no longer serves us, and bask in the sunlight of our true potential.

Wellbeing Techniques

Sound Meditation
Envelops the mind in peaceful melodies, melting away stress and fostering relaxation. Its benefits extend to improved focus, better sleep, and emotional release, creating a serene space for inner rejuvenation and harmonising your whole

being to be healthier and happier.

 

 

Drumming
it’s a gateway to a myriad of benefits. The primal beat of drums taps into our innate sense of connection and releases stress. As hands strike, a meditative state emerges, enhancing mindfulness and reducing anxiety. Beyond its therapeutic value, drumming fosters coordination, boosts mood, and promotes a sense of community when shared with others. With every beat, drumming ignites a powerful and joyful journey of

self-discovery and well-being.

 

Cooking 

The process itself is therapeutic, as the rhythm of chopping and stirring becomes a mindful meditation. Cooking empowers us to make healthier choices, fostering a deeper connection to our diet. Ultimately, the act of preparing food becomes a gratifying journey that enriches our senses and feeds our soul.
